WHERE A TREE FALLS…

Ecclesiastes 11:3-4 – “If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. 4 He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” NKJV

There comes a time in our human finite existence on planet Earth that this scripture will apply to us and that is the day of our death.  The condition that we are in on that day will determine for eternity our eternal destiny and will not be changeable.

I don’t want to get into differing theological stances of various denominations and religious groups but that is my belief.  That “after death is the judgment,” and we will each give an account of our lives before the Heavenly Father.  It will either be a joyous time as Jesus steps forward and testifies on our behalf or a time when He remains silent because of the hardness of our hearts and the lack of repentance while alive.

Too many are taking risks with their eternity and living a delusion that at the last minute they will be able to repent, accept Jesus and all will be well.  Yet, each day the Holy Spirit is dealing with their hearts and bringing conviction of sin to the forefront of their minds and offering them an opportunity to repent and receive the mercy of God.  Sadly, for some, the words spoken to John in Revelation will be applicable.

Revelation 22:6-11 – “Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place 7 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. 11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” NKJV

It will be “he who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”  The condition that you live in is the likely condition in which you will die.  What is the condition of your life today?

May God be with you as you go through this day!
