Galatians 6:7-10 – “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. “NKJV
As in most things in the Kingdom, God makes it simple, and man complicates it. We over-analyze, over-think, over-examine, and over-explain many of the simple truths, realities, and facts of scripture.
The Law of Sowing & Reaping is not a difficult one to understand and it is a principle that works in the natural and spiritual. We reap WHAT we sow. If you sow corn you get corn. If you sow wheat you get wheat. If you sow sin you get sin. If you sow discord you get discord. If you sow love you get love. It really is simple.
If you sow to the flesh and you reap corruption. If you sow to the spirit and you get life. Therefore, if we have the opportunity to walk in the spirit and follow the pattern of our Lord we are to do so and as a result, we will reap the benefits of that lifestyle, mindset, and attitude.
You really don’t have to go around looking for something to do to earn points with God, that would be a doctrine of works and eliminate faith. However, there is a balance in the Kingdom, and because we have faith we work, and we work because we have faith. Because of my love for the Lord, I DESIRE to do good to all men and I understand the principle of farming. In farming:
- You reap WHAT you sow.
- You reap LATER than you sow.
- You reap MORE than you sow.
- But you always reap IN KIND. (You don’t sow watermelons and get apples).
So, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in what you do and place God at the center of your universe and everything else will fall into place. Try it you might like it!
Blessings as you go through your day!
