Revelation 12:11 – “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. NKJV
1 Samuel 17:45-47 – “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.” NKJV
When we reflect on this story our hearts should be reminded of what the Bible informs us in Luke 10:19, that the devil has no power over us and in Colossians 2:15, that Jesus has disarmed the powers of hell. We should remind ourselves that and through Him (Jesus) we are able to take the very weapons of the devil and defeat him with them. The weapon of Fear now causes the Philistines to turn and run. Sadly, too often the church is sitting in the hills cowering in fear over the taunts of the devil or his henchmen. Our minds tell us that God says we do not have to put up with that, but our hearts are just not sure. He looks so Imposing but remember – he is Defeatable, no he is Defeated! It is in the Name of the Lord not in the system of man that victory comes!
Revelation 12:11 should give us incredible confidence and hope. It should also solidify in our hearts and minds that there is Power in our testimony. Remember in the very beginning how God illustrated the Power of the spoken word…. And God said…. In Hebrews 11 we find that by Faith worlds were framed. We are created in the image and likeness of God and we are expected to operate in the same demonstration of faith as our Lord when He walked this earth.
Thus, Mark 11:23-24 is not a fictional possibility but a real promise if we walk in faith. The devil knows there is power in our words directed by the Spirit of God and that is one of the reasons he works so hard to keep us silent. Remember you are the primary audience that listens to what you say. When the devil comes talking about your past you should begin speaking of your future. Don’t wait on him to attack run at him armed with the promises of God and declare them! We are told in Deuteronomy 30:15 that God has set before us life and death and we can choose life. The spies in Numbers 13, offer an illustration of this as ten said, ‘we can’t’ two said, ‘they are just bread for us.’
Our enemy is not flesh and blood, so we need to learn to fight with the weapons of warfare that are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We have the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of Jesus. MIGHTY WEAPONS! No weapon formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that rises against us in judgment will be condemned.
I encourage you to remember that your testimony is far more powerful than any weapon of the devil and let it ring forth loud and strong!
God bless you as you go through your day!
