Word, Words, and The Word

Psalm 42:1-1 – “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.  I thirst for God, the living God.  When can I go and stand before him?”

As I read, prayed, and pondered the Word of God today, Word & Words became my focus.    The power of the Word of God is immeasurable.   His Word is Himself, and He is Omnipotent, so His Word is Omnipotent.

But something we dare not forget, there is power in our words.  Our words are not omnipotent, but if they flow from His Rhema, they have creative power.   We are told that there is ‘life & death’ in the tongue.  We are told that we will be judged by every idle, thoughtless, and careless word.

How valuable and vital is God’s Word (voice) to us?  Psalm 42:1-2 describes how important they should be.    God’s words reveal God.  In His promises, we discover, as Psalm 46:1-4 reveals, that God is our refuge, fortress, strength, and now help.  GOD’s presence, confirmed by His Word, banishes fear and leads us to the River of God.

Psalm 43:3 – “O send out Thy light and Thy truth; let them comfort me; let them bring me unto Thy holy mountain and to Thy tabernacle.”

That light (revelation-word) enables us to encourage ourselves in HOPE!   If we Hope in God, discouragement, depression, doubt, and defeat are overcome!  My heart cries for the work of the Word to lead me to the LIGHT!

God, in total surrender, I ask for a clean heart (washed in water by the Word).  I ask for a right (obedient and righteous spirit).  I desire to dwell in Your presence and overflow with Your Holy Spirit.   I ask for a renewal of Your Joy (the Joy of Salvation).  I ask for the keeping power and presence to protect, preserve, and prepare me for my purpose and assignment on this Earth.

Father, we long for Your Word!   Help us to WAIT on Your Word!
