LIKE IT OR NOT, YOU ARE TOTALLY EXPOSED BEFORE GOD…

Luke 12:1-3 – “Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all, ” Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.  2 ” But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.  3 “Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.” NASB

In Ezekiel, God spoke of the sinful state of Israel and told the prophet that the people thought that what they did in the dark was somehow hidden from the Lord.  David reminded us in the Psalms that God is there whether we make our bed in hell or heaven.  The fact that God sees ALL is either the greatest comfort or the worst nightmare. It depends on your heart!

In this passage, Jesus reminds His disciples and us that whatever we say or do is seen by God, recorded in the heavenly recording studio, and will be played back.  Therefore, we should live daily with a total awareness that we are “totally exposed” before God.  The thoughts and intents of our hearts are known to Him.

Every action and word is known to Him.  Every commission or omission is known to Him.  Like the old saying, “You can run but can’t hide.”  That is true concerning the Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent God we serve.

I would suggest that we begin living our lives in that knowledge and let our words, thoughts, and deeds be filtered through the prism of that truth.  We would all begin to see changes in our attitudes, actions, and words.  I am quite confident that we would get the attention of the people around us.  Some would consider us “freaks” and “religious fanatics,” but others would find a hunger developing in their hearts to have what we have.

You cannot hide from God, so why try?  He knows your thoughts before you think them, so seek the Holy Spirit’s help in “guarding” your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  My constant prayer is, Lord, “set a watch over my mind, my mouth, and my hands so that I do not sin against you.”

May the Lord be with you as you go through your day!  Blessings abundantly!
