Love and Lies – Incompatible Elements

Psalm 78:36-37 – “Nevertheless they loved Him with their mouths, and lied to Him with their tongues.  37 For their hearts were not right with Him,  neither were they steadfast in His Covenant.”

Today, I pray for divine wisdom and favor to overflow to you and from you so powerfully that it amazes others.   Not that they will be amazed about you, but the God in you and begin to seek Him.   I pray for the provision of All you need when you need it.   I pray for abundance to be in your hand and Agape in your heart.

I had a long and troubled night.  I was physically and mentally exhausted, as though I had been in severe hand-to-hand combat.   I probably disturbed my wife and our critters in my restlessness. I will be fine; I am just seeking His face and grace.

I read a challenging passage in Psalm 78 that was, at first, troubling.   However, hope arose in verses 38-39 – “He is merciful, the forgiver of sins, and destroys not; yeah, many a time turned He His anger away and did not stir up His wrath.  39 For He remembered that they were flesh; a wind that passes away and comes not again.”

Three times in Psalm 80, verses  3, 7, 19, the same words are uttered.    It is more than the chorus of a song repeated after each stanza.  It is a cry and revelation.   “Guide us again, O mighty God, and cause Thy face to shine; AND we shall be saved.”   Only through His mercy, grace, and guidance do we have hope.  Only in those do we have help.  Only in those do we have peace.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 –“But the Lord is faithful; He will guide you and deliver you from evil.”

In Numbers 6:22-27, we find The Aaronic blessing.  It contains the vision of God’s shining face.   That is our desire – Pleasing God.  It is my prayer for each of you that God will smile upon you, open heaven for you, and give you grace and peace.   May He grant the strength to pursue His purposes and walk in His precepts.

Lord, we, once again, surrender all to You!  Receive our offering!  Amen!

Walk victorious in Jesus, abandon all lies, and embrace Love!   Have a Great Day!

God Is, and All Is His

Psalm 89:11 – “The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; as for the world and the fulness thereof,  You founded them.”

A thought gripped my consciousness as I prayed, read, pondered, and mused on the Psalms.   What was that thought?  GOD!   His Almightiness, incomparable power, and inescapable presence.   He IS!  Everything that is seen or unseen was made by Him.  It is His.

Psalm 91 is an incredible promise to those who are saved.   In it, we find protection, provision, progress, and perseverance.   Psalm 92 tells us that our God will make our closing years like a flourishing fruit tree.

Psalm 94:11 – “The LORD knows the thoughts of man; they are like a breath.”

Psalm 97:6 – “The heavens declare His righteousness,  AND all the people see His glory.”

Psalms 100 and 101 instruct us on entering His presence and living.  Psalm 103 begins with the reasons for praise and His provisions.  Psalm 103:14 talks about God’s dealings with us: “For He knows whereof we are made; He remembers that we are dust.”

God knows our mortality and limitations.   God knows our weaknesses and our strengths.   He knows the motives of our hearts and still loves us.  Despite our flaws, He invites us into His family and presence.

1 Timothy 1:17 describes God – “…the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever.”

Paul reminded Timothy of our goals in life and how to live.  In 1 Timothy 6:11-12, he tells him to flee covetousness and greed but make righteousness, piety, faith, love, patience, and meekness marks of character.  Then, fight the good fight of faith.   In 1 Timothy 6:20-21, he warns us to avoid empty echoes and perversions of science.  (A whole other topic).

The key – GOD.  Know Who He is and What He does.  But more importantly, Know Him Personally!  It is in knowing God, not about God, that we become Who We Are Designed to Be!

I urge you to Meditate on God.  See Him everywhere.   Surrender Everything to Him.   There is peace, power, provision, protection, and purpose in that place.    All is His.  We are His.  Therefore, all is ours!

Have a victorious day in Jesus; it is the Day He has made for us to rejoice and be glad!

Our Covenant Keeping God

Psalm 105:8-11 –He remembers his covenant forever,  the word that  He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham,     his sworn promise to Isaac, 10 which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute,     to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan
as your portion for an inheritance.”

God’s faithfulness consumed me as I prayed, read, studied, pondered, and meditated upon the Word.   In Psalm 105:8, we are told that God keeps His Covenant to a thousand generations.   That is not so much a chronology as a revelation of God’s endless faithfulness.

God engineers our paths to bring us to His fullness.   Joseph is an example.  He put a dream in Joseph’s heart that had no human pathway to completion.  Then, He used human jealousy and hate to provide the path for completion.

God’s promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob of ‘The Land’ was fulfilled centuries later through Moses and Joshua.

Psalm 105:37 – “He brought them forth also with silver and gold…”

Let that sink in.  God delivered from bondage but not empty-handed.  They had the wealth of the wicked in their hands as they traveled.   To whom does it all belong?  GOD!

“…AND there was not one feeble person among their tribes.”   That is a Wow Passage!  Not only were they delivered but with wealth and health.  That’s God’s way, His Promise, and Purpose.  He does not lie, forget His promises, or fail.  Never Ever Does He Fail!

In Psalm 107:19-20, when they despaired and cried to God for help, He heard and delivered them.  “He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from destruction.”   God is a covenant keeper and remembers His Covenant forever.

Our responsibility is to humble ourselves, turn from wickedness, and seek Him.   He is Ready to Respond.    He only awaits us to return, call, heed, believe, and receive.   God is forever faithful!  No matter what we face, He is always more than enough!

Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”

Today, I encourage you in simple confidence to ask the Father with as much specificity as possible what you desire.   He will quicken you with conviction if it is out of the wrong motive.  If it is out of pureness of heart, He will open doors, move mountains, and shake nations if necessary to provide it.

Have a Fantastic Day in Jesus, and Enjoy the Victory He has Provided!

Trusting God

Psalm 130:5 – “I trust the LORD, my soul waits for His Word.”

Most believers claim that as a description of their lives.   But the theme of Scripture is that trust yields to that which is trusted.   Then, once that Word comes, action follows.   What we truly believe in our hearts, we act upon.   What we believe in our heads, we look at longingly and lament that it is not consistent in us.  Theoretical belief tends to frustrate and opens the door for self-justification or explanation as to why it is absent or inconsistent.

Experiential belief sees the Word, the Promise, the Person of God as a present reality and opportunity.   It acts expectantly because the heart knows that it knows.   It is out of our oneness with God that we live the miraculous life Jesus said we are called to.

If we trust Him with our hearts, His Word propels us into action.  We see the darkness and know that God in us is light.  We see the bondage and know that God in us is the release.  We see those things Jesus addressed at the crucifixion and realize they are already done.  We are vessels through which they flow.

We know that we Are because He is.  We know we Can because He has.  Today, let’s commit our hearts to the life of Triumph and embrace the anointing He has given us.

Several things captured my heart and mind as I mused on this Word:

  • The unfailingness of love.
  • The Omnipotence Omniscience and Omnipresence of God.
  • The Power of Trust.

It would be impossible to deal with those at length, but Agape is one of the most powerful and often missing elements in today’s world.   Agape trusts and never grows tired of loving.  Agape overlooks human fault and sees what God sees in others.  Agape never allows the self to become the center, nor does it take offense even if wronged or the appearance of wrong is done.  It loves with the heart of God.

God Knows Everything!  He knew us before Adam was created.

Psalm 139:16 – “Thine eyes did see (past tense) my substance, yet being imperfect (not formed); And upon thy books all these things were written Even Before day was, and man was brought into existence.”

We have been in God’s heart forever and will be forever!  He Is The Living God!

Trust is an indispensable quality and quantity in life.  We cannot know peace without trust.  A trustless life is a life of endless misery and pain.  It internalizes everything and makes self the center, always expecting the worst to come.

Hebrews 3:14 – “For we are MADE partakers of Christ, IF (keyword) from the beginning to the very end we HOLD Steadfast to this true covenant.”

Trust, commitment, and submission allow us to love without fear and experience God’s IS-ness. God knows what we need and will enable us to experience things that require us to trust because we know He knows we trust and Agape without fear.

If All Things are blended together into a finished product that is good, then we can look at troubles, trials, and disappointments through the lens of Trust!  He does not fail.  Transform your trials into triumphs by allowing Agape to rule in your heart.  By trusting God, knowing that even if people fail and disappoint us, God is using that for our ultimate good, the finished product.

Trust, love, and rest in His infiniteness.   Have a Blessed Day, Trusting Him.  He Never Fails!

The Art of Listening

Proverbs 1:5-6Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance, to understand a proverb and a saying, the words of the wise and their riddles.”

Today, as I read and meditated on the Word in prayer, I was reminded of a deep need.   That is “The Art of Listening.”   We all hear but do not always listen rightly.

We listen in many ways.  We listen to formulate a response.  We listen for what we want to hear or anticipate hearing.  We listen to the words, not the content, and do not perceive the intent.  We make words more powerful than the heart.

Proverbs 1:5 tells us that a wise person listens, and in Listening, they increase in learning (knowledge and understanding).  The person who listens gains understanding, and understanding elevates them to a higher responsibility or sphere.

Wisdom is from God, and Proverbs 2:1-5 informs us that “if” we seek wisdom (which is God) as indispensable, we understand worship.  What it is and how to worship.

That opens the door to the storehouse of the knowledge of God.  That is dual knowledge of who He is and the storehouse of the knowledge He has.  He wants us to have permanent access to the storehouse of wisdom and knowledge.

Trust is the key.  But we do not trust until we know.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord do not trust your understanding or rely on your wisdom.  Acknowledge Him in ALL that you say, do, or think AND…”

He will be your life guide, enabling you to navigate through the seas of life.  Proverbs 3:8-10 provides an incredible promise.  The promise is healing with life-perpetuating health.   We will have full barns and possibly even full bank accounts.  God desires that we give ourselves wholly to Him, Obey Him, and pursue Him.

As we see Him, we become transformed into His likeness.   (This is not having fleshly similarly, but character and heart.)  Today, ask for help to listen.  Ask for wisdom and understanding.  Trust Him totally.

Victory is today and every day for the believer wholly surrendered to Jesus!
