VISION REQUIRED FOR VICTORY…

Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people are out of control, but how blessed is he who keeps the law.”

Your destiny is greatness!  I believe that for every child of God, the destiny is greatness.

But what is greatness?

  • To the world, it is position, power, and purse.
  • To the believer, it is sometimes our view of how we compare to others.
  • To God, it is having a pure heart, walking in obedience, and fulfilling our assignment in life.

You are destined for God’s greatness. As you embrace His purposes and view, inside you prosper, and out of that inner prosperity comes outward manifestation.

That is why John could pray that they would prosper and be in health even as their soul prospered. True health and prosperity always begin on the inside and work their way to the outside. That is prosperity that prospers the soul and contains no sorrow.

Our ambition should be to please God!  Our desire should be to fulfill His assignment(s) for our life and then go home.  Life should be lived with a sense of destiny and purpose.  It may seem an impossible dream!   But God’s dreams are impossible to man and our frail ability, but Nothing is Impossible with Him.

If God birthed it, it is possible, and our responsibility is to pursue it.  Preparation always precedes blessing; if we do not give Him a vessel to deposit His blessing in, He will not pour it upon the ground.  He wants hearts, not just plans!

It is time to take a step toward the vision of our hearts!  Even a baby step is a step in the right direction. Inaction or being paralyzed by inadequacy, insufficiency, and what we believe is a lack of opportunity produces decay, not development.

The question is, “Do we trust God? Do we believe His word?” If we do, our actions must be aligned with and testify to that faith, that belief. Our actions and words must be positive and fully confident that what God said, God will do.

It is time to stand up, step out, and chart our course to the first step in fulfilling God’s assignment for us. Even if you do not see its conclusion, lay the foundation for others to take the vision and run with it. Write it Down! Share it with others who believe in the Possibilities of Impossibilities in God!

Let us decide to take the first step toward fulfilling our dream and the vision He has placed in our hearts.  If God’s assignment for you is to write a book, at least write the title and the first sentence. If you believe God has called you to preach, pray, and write a message. Even if you have no place to preach it (you do), write it down!

What is your vision? Habakkuk 2:2 –“…Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so that he who reads it can run with it.”  It will never be if you do not write it down, contemplate how to begin, and test it with the faithful. It will be a fantasy, not a vision. It will be a wish, not a purposed destiny. It will be the fish that got away rather than you caught. The size of the vision is not important; being obedient and the beginning is.

Today is your day! Now is the time! We do not know what tomorrow holds, but we know Who holds tomorrow. I can tell you that taking the first step toward fulfilling a vision provides a profound sense of pleasure and purpose—it can be euphoric! That must be how Paul felt—“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…” 2 Timothy 4:7.

I ask that you pray this prayer:Father, help me to listen to Your call and have the courage and willingness to begin the journey toward fulfillment.  We know that step one is total surrender to You. Step two is to do something that will open the door to fulfilling that vision. I surrender all. I am yours, Lord, everything I am, everything I am not, everything I have got, and everything I do not have. I AM YOURS!  I make that confession and declaration in my heart and declare that I will take the first step beginning today!  Amen!”

Now that you have done that, watch what God does!

May your day be filled with God’s presence, provision, and power!

GOD IS!

Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who draws near to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”

Today is a new day with new opportunities, victories, and revelations. The blessings of God are new every morning, every afternoon, and every evening. The flow of God’s Love never ceases. HE IS and IS a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Some are troubled by the possible meaning of the Solar Eclipse, but remember that at the end of the Day, God is still God and still on the throne! No Fear!

When we read passages like that in Hebrews 11:6, it is easy to ask, “What about those who do not?”   We should desire to be those who diligently seek God.  We should be those who believe in the Is-ness of God.

God IS!  That is a standalone and powerful statement, and it is all-encompassing.  God IS!   We have numerous passages in the Bible that confirm that:

1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that God IS Faithful.

1 John 1:5 tells us that God is light and there is no darkness in Him.

2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God is not slow in keeping His promises and is patient with us.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God, which is God, is ALIVE.

James 1:17 tells us that God is the giver of good gifts.

John 4:24 tells us that God is Spirit.

Numbers 23:19 tells us that God is not a human being and has no capacity to lie or fail.

Psalm 116:5 tells us that God is gracious, righteous, and compassionate.

Psalm 84:11-12 tells us that God is our sun and shield.

Job 12:7-10 tells us, “In His hands is the life of every creature.”

GOD IS!  He is with us and has promised never to forsake us.  Tragically, we sometimes envision Him as over there, up there, or out there rather than being Right Here In Us!   We are IN Christ, and Christ is IN us, and He Never Ever Changes!

Our daily prayer could and should be: “LORD, enlighten our hearts to believe in the presence of God! Help us to see what You are doing and hear what You are saying. Help us to have a renewed deposit of awareness of the IS-NESS of God and walk in the confidence, assurance, hope, and power of Your Presence.”

We do not serve an abstract but The Living God!  God is with us All the Time!  He is aware of Everything in our lives, hearts, minds, and hands.  He wants to guide us and has promised to do just that.  He wants to protect us and has promised to do just that.  The Father wants us to have the Kingdom and be anointed and empowered to do the works of Jesus and the greater works He planned.

Isaiah prophesied about Jesus, and Jesus identified that the prophecy was about Him.  But He has given us the authority and power to operate in His Name.  Therefore, if He is IN us and we are One with Him, then this prophecy also applies to us.

“The Spirit of the LORD is on me and you, BECAUSE…”  Because? Yes, because He has anointed us to proclaim the Good News to the poor. He has sent us to proclaim freedom for the prisoners. He has sent us to bring recovery of sight to the blind. He has empowered and anointed us to set the oppressed free. He has anointed us to proclaim the Ultimate and Total Victory of the Cross.

Jesus sent the disciples out with power and authority. He confirmed that this is for all who believe and will obey. We are to bring the sick to His healing, the dead to life, the lepers to cleansing, and those possessed and demonized to liberty.

Mark 16:15-18 – “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my Name, they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

WOW!  It is time to believe in the “ISNESS” of God and, rather than preach and testify of theory, become Doers of the Word. If God is the same past, present, and future, WHY NOT NOW? We have a world to win, and the world is not interested in our theories about God; they want to see the Living God Living IN Us!

God is, God Does, God Can, and God Will. My prayer: “Father, I ask that You help us see You as the LIVING GOD and the Present God. Help us to see ourselves as You see us, not as the devil says we are, nor as the world says we are, nor even as we think we are, but as You see us! Clothe us with Your Holy Spirit and free us from limited thinking and defeatism. Amen.”

  • Some live in pessimism, some in optimism, some in what they call realism, and others in fatalism.
  • I choose to Live in GOD IS-ISM.
  • My God IS!
  • My God Lives!
  • My God, Reigns!
  • My God is The Living God!
  • He is Your God, too.

So, shake yourself, put off the old thinking, put on the new view of God, and live as if He is telling the truth because He is!

May the Living God, Creator of All, walk with you today and lift you higher!

DEFEATING DOUBLE MINDEDNESS…

Matthew 12:25-29 – “And knowing their thoughts He said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.”

Can We Bind the Strongman in Our Lives?

Each person focuses on something each day.   What we focus on plays a major role in the outcome of that day and the successive days.

Jesus warned of dividedness and the revelation of how to deal with the problem and attain daily victory. The Pharisees and Scribes accused Jesus of using demonic power to cast out devils. The LORD reminded them that a divided kingdom was doomed to fail. It would be unstable and unsustainable.

He continued with His treatise and revelation on protecting ourselves and our possessions from the devil (strongman) and even how to get back what was stolen.

  • First, there was an act of binding the intruder.
  • Then, there was the act of taking back what he had taken.

Being single-minded and focused on God, His Word, and His promises empowers us to Bind the Strongman and walk in victory.

A double-minded person is unstable in everything, according to the Bible!  But let us go back to the consideration of a divided kingdom.   Is not the mind a sort of kingdom?  If we are divided in our thoughts, we create an unstable and unsustainable kingdom of the soul and open the door for the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy.

We must bind our double-minded thoughts and bring every thought into captivity to Jesus. Divided hearts destroy faith.  That is visible in Matthew 14. The account of Peter walking on the water makes us say, WOW! But the WOW dissipates when we read the rest of the story. What happened?

Peter became double-minded and lost focus.  A divided heart destroys faith and invites needless struggle.  Focus can cause the heart and mind to become divided.  Peter lost focus! Focus either builds faith or destroys it. Peter Saw… That’s the issue, He Saw!

Peter first focused on Jesus and took authority over the elements. Then, he SAW the winds and waves (problems and difficulties). His focus shifted his consciousness from God’s reality to the natural, and his mind became divided. He saw Jesus, but he also saw the winds and waves. He was focused on two realities, which created a doublemindedness that shipwrecked his confidence and sank.

How do we cultivate a singular heart that is focused on God, His Word, and His Promises?

  • We Talk to Ourselves!
  • We remind ourselves of What God Has Said.
  • We speak to ourselves in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the LORD.
  • We focus on God! We look beyond the natural into the supernatural.
  • We look beyond what seems to be to what is.
  • We look beyond the problem to the fulfillment and bind the negative and non-productive thoughts and words from our hearts and mouths.
  • We Focus on God, and that produces Faith.  If we focus on the problem, it destroys Faith.

Remember, through the Victory of Jesus, the devil is no longer in charge; we are!  In God’s eyes, we are victorious!  We have authority over all the power of the enemy. We are more than conquerors. So, bind those loose and wayward thoughts of wrong focus and walk on the waters of your life. You may have to be rescued a few times, but you will learn to focus and reject doublemindedness. Victory is Yours! Today is your day; seize it!

My prayer for you today: “Lord, I ask that you help each one begin a new way of thinking and begin the process of binding the strongman and embracing the victory and promises of God. Every journey must begin with the first step, so step forward and focus on Jesus!”

May this day be filled with His presence and every strongman bound!

GOD BOTTLES OUR TEARS

Psalm 56:8 “You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?”

The Psalmist presents the concept that our tears and sorrow are temporary IF… That is the key: “If, But if what?”  If we are children of God, we should turn our hearts and minds to Him and trust Him with all our hearts.

God takes note of our wanderings, puts our tears in His bottle, and records them in His book. That is intriguing.  It would be enlightening and encouraging if we could receive it.  It is a focus changer if we permit it.

I quoted that once and was told, almost angrily, “Well, it must be a huge bottle to contain all my tears of disappointment, sorrow, and hurt.” News Flash—it is! It is limitless in capacity because God is limitless. Nothing that impacts us goes unnoticed by God—He sees everything! That is both comforting and disconcerting.

God does nothing without purpose, and if He is putting our tears in His bottle and recording them in His journal, then He must have something in mind. Since it is His pleasure to give us the Kingdom and He desires to bless us, lift us up, guard and guide us, those tears are more than empathy to Him; they are the seeds of joy and victory.

When we remember the promise and encouragement that weeping lasts for the night, but joy comes in the morning, one of two things happens. We either grow more despondent and ask, “When will it be morning?” or we should it as a comfort and a promise and say, “No matter how long or painful this is—joy is my heritage!”

Ask God to make it your morning! The Bible reveals, and many have learned, that God turns our sorrow into joy and our weeping into reasons to smile. As that revelation comes, we are better equipped to comfort those who need it. It is in that condition that we can offer more than empathy. We can share what we have received. We can share Hope! Our lives can testify to God’s goodness and the unfailingness of His promises!

Hebrews 4:14-16 informs us that Jesus is our High Priest. He knows fully what we are going through because He has been there. His sufferings remind us of the incredible love and compassion God has for us. Because of that reality, we can confidently draw near to God’s throne and receive mercy and grace to help in our time of need. Remember, our Morning is Coming!

Make it your objective and goal to be totally free from your personal prison of pain, the stranglehold of tears, pain, suffering, and sorry.

I ask that you pray this prayer with me: “Lord, help me to walk out of my Prison of Pain into the Joy of the Lord!  Enable me to have a new outlook and confidence.  Help me to declare, believe, and demonstrate Your Faithfulness.  I declare that Today is My Morning!  I will rejoice and give You praise!”

My prayer for you is: Lord, make the day peaceful, prosperous, and filled with the wisdom and power of God. Enable each one to pull down every stronghold that hinders and not only be free but be used by the LORD to set others free! Amen!”

Have a fantastic day in Jesus!  He will never leave you nor forsake you!

WHAT ARE WE FOCUSED ON?

Psalm 73:2-3 – But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my step had almost slipped. For I was envious of the boastful, I saw the peace of the wicked.”

Today is a day to rejoice because it is the day God has made, and more blessings and victories are waiting to be discovered than we can imagine.

Focus is essential!

When we choose to rejoice and focus on God our troubles will pale compared to the Light of His Glory.  I did not say they would magically disappear, but they would be put in perspective!

The Psalmist confessed that he had allowed his focus on the seeming ease and prosperity of the wicked to get him down.  It had almost shipwrecked his faith.  It had nearly caused him to throw up his hands and give up.  He was battling difficulties in life, but it seemed that those around him, far less committed and engaging in evil, were getting away with murder.  His attitude was, “God, How Could You?”

Most of us have been there, even if we refuse to admit it. Envy is a focus shifter that destroys faith and confidence. Paul admonished us not to compare ourselves with others.

  • First, we have no idea what is happening in their lives and what God might be doing.   The only life in which we can have any idea of what is happening is ours.
  • Second, when we allow envy or jealousy to gain a foothold, we slap God in the face.

He is Love, true!  But we must never forget He is Holy and Righteous and works on each individual differently. We must never lose focus on Him!

A few verses later, the Psalmist revealed his epiphany: “If I had allowed myself to rehearse what I saw and allow envy to bear fruit, I would have lost my faith. I would have turned my back on God.”  He continued, saying, “When I went to the sanctuary, I understood.”

That sanctuary does not necessarily have to be a church, but it is the Throne Room of God and into God’s presence. In His presence, our hearts and minds are open to understanding, and we realize that God’s dealings with everyone are personalized. There is no one-size-fits-all.

As we Seek God first, we realize that our Hope is Him and our provision is Him. I do not care what someone else has. They may have more than enough, and I may be in need. It may appear that they are facing no demons in their life while I am fighting every devil in hell. It may seem that nothing wrong touches them, and everything I feel falls apart. But GOD is still God, and there will be a payday one day.

Never allow the devil to entangle you in the debate about fairness.   Life is not always fair from the human viewpoint, but God is always just, righteous, loving, kind, and compassionate.   God cares about the condition of our hearts.  You can count it all joy “if” you realize that God’s love allows you to go through trials, and His purpose is to make you strong so you can be a channel through which He can bless others materially and spiritually.

If you are blessed with a million dollars and have ten cents to my name, I will rejoice with you.  I have learned that life is not about comparisons but companionship.  Life is not about who has the most ease but being in that Secret Place with God!

Let us determine that we will Seek God and cooperate with the Holy Spirit in our spiritual maturity.  If we do, I believe several things will transpire:

  • We will grow to a place of trust so completely that we refuse to compare ourselves with others.
  • We will refuse to be envious or jealous of what another has or is not going through.
  • We will realize that CHRIST IN US is our hope!
  • We will realize and experience God’s Love and the work of Jesus on the Cross so profoundly that we will lose all self-centeredness, and envy cannot grow in a selfless heart.

Today, your victory is awaiting you!  I pray that you will see it and seize it. Turn to God and resist the devil, and the devil will have no choice but to leave! I declare that this is!

May today be a day of overflowing victory and exquisite joy for you!

UNITED HEARTS…

Psalm 86:11 – Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.”

What a Day this is and will be! Let us decide to rejoice and be glad! Let us decide that we are going to walk in Jesus’ victory! Let us determine that we are going to live as overcomers! Let us determine that we will become what God says we are! Today is His day, and we are His; therefore, today is ours!

The importance of God’s presence is our thought for this devotion.  His presence is necessary to have unity with God.  When we truly realize that one day in God’s presence is worth a thousand or an infinite number of days anywhere else.

Let us embrace the desire of the Psalmist for God to Unite our hearts with His!

We need singleness of mind.  We need the Holy Spirit to remove from us all double-mindedness, transform us, and enable us to Be who God says we are!

Too often, we read the Bible theoretically or abstractly rather than as a practical, implementable reality. When we are reminded of Jesus’ words that we would “Do” the works He did and even greater works, we seem to think, “Well, when I get to heaven.” Seriously? There will be nothing to overcome in heaven. We will not need that in heaven; it is for the Earth and the present.

We sometimes justify why we cannot do something spiritually, and the most common is, “I’m only human.”  Yes, we are!  Yes, everyone is!  But God gives no directive that is not implementable and possible NOW!

If our hearts are united with Him, we become like Him, and He transforms us so that the life we now live in the flesh we live in and through Him. Rather than waiting for spiritual perfection and maturity when we get to heaven, it is time to begin the process of becoming now! The Holy Spirit has come to teach, train, educate, empower, and guide us into His Truth, enabling us to fulfill our purpose on this earth. He came for victory!

Make God’s presence paramount in our lives and set our hearts to seek Him first!

We should pray daily for the Lord to help us see with the eyes of the Spirit what we can be and are in Him. He will help us believe that we have the authority and power He has declared that we have, so we need His help to transform us to a state of willingness to live as if He is being truthful because He is!

Some say, “But I might fail. I don’t know how to hear God.”  What ability, in the natural, is honed without effort, investment of time, and energy?  What ability is developed without mistakes, errors, and failures?  Therefore, why not approach this similarly and allow the Holy Spirit to help us become?  Trial and error are not always bad things.

We may learn how we hear by learning how we do not hear God. With each victory, we will become more assured and confident that we can do all things through Jesus! Success inspires further attempts to achieve.

Today, I encourage you to take what God said, personalize it, and set your heart to become what He says you are. You will be surprised at how quickly you become more than you think you are and see new victories you previously thought were impossible.

Remember that Today is your day!  Rejoice and step out, daring to fail; he will never leave or forsake you! If you stumble, He will help you up, and you will walk farther the next time.

May today prove to be a day in which your heart is more deeply entwined with God’s heart, and may you know the fullness of His victory!

FEAR IS OVERCOME BY FAITH…

Mark 5:1-20 & 6:45-52

I ask that you read those two passages, which are crucial to our devotional today.  Also, I encourage you to remember that this is the day the Lord has made, and we have every reason to rejoice and be glad. We live on the brink of eternity, and Jesus is coming again!

The thought in my heart for today is The Power of Fear!

The two accounts in our text reflect the power of Fear and the power of Faith—they are like oil and water.

The incident where Jesus and the disciples met the demoniac in Gennesaret and when He came walking on the water amid the storm. In both accounts, there was the presence of fear.

In both accounts, the unexpected and unknown occurred, allowing fear to take center stage. The demoniac was healed, and the herd of swine drowned in the sea. The people came to Jesus. They were in His presence and heard the recounting of what had transpired. It was not what they expected. It was beyond their comfort zone, and fear gripped their hearts. As a result, they asked Jesus to leave!

The disciples were in a mess as the storm raged around them.  They looked up, and here comes Jesus, walking on the water.  They were afraid.  Fear gripped their hearts! Unlike those in Gennesaret, they knew Jesus, had walked with Him, and observed the miracles. Yet, when the unexpected came and something outside their comfort zone of expectation and possibility occurred, Fear entered.

Later, Jesus and the disciples returned to Gennesaret; this time, they recognized Him and brought the sick and bound to Him.  What changed?  I believe it was that the delivered man had been preaching the Good News to them, and as they heard the Word and observed the change in him, the Word took root and produced a harvest of faith.

Faith grows in the fertile ground of the Word.  Where fear exists, faith cannot manifest itself.  We tend to fear what we do not understand or expect.  When God does something outside our doctrinal viewpoint or mindset paradigm, we allow fear to gain a foothold.

The Bible says that there is No Fear in Love and that Perfect Love Casts Out Fear!  We are told that Jesus is the Word, and that no human can live by natural food alone but lives truly by every Word that proceeds from God.

The Key the Holy Spirit wants to reveal in this is not something we do not know.  It is a reminder that we need to hear again.  The Word of God is a source of strength and hope.  It is God’s fertilizer for faith! If I abide in Jesus and His Word abides in Me – Fear cannot survive, and Faith will thrive!

Pray this prayer as you set your heart on living in faith, not fear.  “Lord, I pray that today, You will help me and my friends to be people of faith, not fear! Help us to crave Your Word more than our natural food. Help us see Your Word’s value in guiding our lives and shaping our worldview. Help us today to see what You have said and done and trust You with our entire being. Make this day a day of Victory for each of us! Amen!”

May today be a day of complete submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and one in which you walk through the doorway of Faith and banish Fear!

TIPPING GOD…

Luke 21:1-4 – Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” LSB

Today, Luke 21 touched my heart as I read about the time Jesus sat and watched those giving into the temple’s treasury. The story is far more than money or possessions. It has a life application that is too often missed. What I heard in my heart was the “Spare Change Commitment.”

What could that possibly mean? Thanks for asking. This woman had two major struggles in her life. She was poor (needy) and a widow (alone, isolated, and unprotected). The rich had no lack; she had nothing but need.

The value God holds for us is seen in this account. The rich gave their spare change, whereas the widow gave everything. This is far more about commitment than money. She valued God more than life, and the rich gave Him a token (spare change).

Too often, we give God what we can spare (not just money). We give Him what does not significantly impact us, and we hardly know when it is gone. God is not looking for our spare change but our entire hearts. If we give God what we can spare without impacting us, that is what or how we will receive from Him.

If we give to God our ALL, He reciprocates in kind and gives us His ALL.  When we give God our Life, all our needs become His needs, and He has no lack.  Thus, He reaches into His treasury and meets the need. He has no needs, so our needs are supplied through His riches in glory. We are IN Him, and He is IN us; therefore, our needs or IN Him and IN Him is no lack.

Give God your all, not your spare change, and watch what God does. I pray that today, the LORD will help us make a total commitment to Him, give Him our ALL, and receive His ALL. Today is your day of victory because Jesus won the victory, and we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus; we have won the victory, too!

May God go with you today and lead you into His fullness and peace!

ANCHORED HOPE…

Psalm 39:7 – “And now, Lord, for what do I wait?  My hope is in You.”

Some days are more difficult than others, but each day is the day the Lord has made, and we can choose to rejoice and be glad. Today, I am waiting on the Word of the LORD. During the summer, my air conditioner went out, and the heat of summer was terrible.  That caused me to reflect on how much we depend on refrigerated air and other technological advances.

As I read and prayed this morning, I was drawn to “Waiting on the Word.” The Bible contains numerous accounts of people trusting and not trusting the Word of God. Angelic visitations were frightening (and still are for many). The word they brought was not always embraced but fulfilled. Unlike conditional prophecy, angelic words are not conditional. The only question is whether the hearer will be a blessed participant or not.

Psalm 119 repeatedly speaks of waiting on the Word. Waiting? We do not wait well because we trust only what we see and our ability. The Word of God not only reveals but guides and protects.

Psalm 119:162 – “I rejoice at Your Word, AS one who finds much spoil.”

Psalm 119:171 – ” Let my tongue answer WITH Your Word, FOR all Your commandments are righteous.”

Those two verses speak volumes about the depth of the Word and how we should talk. Luke’s account of Mary’s visitation and Zechariah’s speaks to that.  Both had a visit from Gabriel directly from God.

Zechariah heard, but because he tried to interpret the Word through his experience, he still received the promise but was mute for nine months. Mary’s mind could not comprehend the declaration, but rather than imposing her interpretation and reason, she asked for revelation and clarification. She received the promise, and even in the face of public humiliation, she believed.

We need to wait on the Word. They only had the Torah, while we have the Old and New Testaments.

  • We have the written Word as our foundation.
  • We have the Word from the Spirit (Rhema) and angels to further enlighten and illuminate.
  • We have the word of conscience to check and encourage us.
  • We have the word of experience to build our confidence.
  • We need to wait for the word and then respond in obedience.

We must learn to embrace the reality that nothing is impossible with God. (Luke 1:37).

I ask that you pray this prayer, “LORD, today I ask for ears to hear and eyes to see what You are saying and doing. I ask that You reveal Your purpose so I can be blessed and participate rather than struggle to believe as I see Your plan unfold.  Amen!”

Psalm 119:147 – “I eagerly greet the dawn and cry for Your help: I WAIT FOR YOUR WORD.”

Psalm 119:147 – “My eyes eagerly greet the night watches, That I may muse on Your Word.”

When hearing God becomes more important than anything else, WE WILL HEAR!  It is when our Reticular Activating System [RAS] takes over and filters out all other voices, but the most important. We will Hear! “Lord, we wait for Your Word. Today, He is speaking, and today, you will hear.”

Have a wonderful day, and embrace the Word the Lord sends you. This is His day, and you are His, so it is your day!

WHAT IS YOUR PASSION?

Psalm 40:8 – I desire to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my inner being.”

What is our purpose if not to serve God and advance His kingdom? Over the years, I have had people tell me, “I don’t know what God’s will is for my life.” Sometimes, they are genuine in that declaration. However, sometimes, there was the absence of a genuine willingness to do the will once it was known. I have discovered that God may not reveal His will to a heart unwilling to do it once it is known.

That being said, if we genuinely want to know the will of God, it would be wise to ask, “What flips your switch, motivates you, and captures your attention and longing?” I have heard some incredible responses and, at times, have been shocked that a Christian would say what was said.

What is your passion?

What do you genuinely like to do? What things do you have a natural propensity and talent for? It is quite likely that those things are an integral part of God’s will for your life. He does not give you talents, abilities, or gifts and instills in your heart wholesome desires that are not to be used for His purposes.

God has declared that we are new creations in Jesus through salvation.  God has said that we are more than conquerors and have all the power and authority of the forces of hell.  He has declared that He will never leave nor forsake us.  He has said that He is unchanging and that none of His promises will fail.  That is Who we are and What we have been promised. Of course, that only scratches the surface of His provisions, but it is enough to cause overflowing joy.

I encourage you to set your heart on being the person of this payer and pray for it.  “Lord, help me to open my heart to You so that You can expose my flaws and Your perfection to me. Help me to surrender my entire being to You, be empowered by Your Spirit, and be cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.  Please help me BE who you said I am!  Amen!”

I declare Victory!  We have victory because of Who Jesus is and What He has done!

May the Lord of Hosts walk with you today and guide you into His fullness!
