Are You Afraid?

2 Chronicles 20:3 –  Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to seek the Lord’s advice. He decreed that all Judah should observe a fast.“

As I read, prayed, and pondered the Word of God, a thought came to me as a question.  “Have you ever been afraid?”  The answer was so obvious that a second question arose: “Are you afraid?”  That caused consternation and introspection.   Afraid?  Of what?  Why?  Now?

The story of 2 Chronicles 20 and Jehoshaphat filled my thoughts.  20:3 – “And Jehoshaphat feared…”  There is no hiding it.  Fear gripped his heart and mind.  He prayed, fasted, and called for a national time of prayer and fasting.  He was fearful, but he knew where his ONLY HOPE was – GOD!

Psalm 70:5 gives the key to victory.  “Lord, in my place of weakness and need, won’t You turn Your heart toward me and hurry to help me?”   Psalm 71:3 was the confidence of God’s Covenant people and their reality.   “You’re the ONLY place of protection for me.  I keep coming back to hide myself in You, FOR You are like a mountain-cliff fortress where I’m kept safe.”

Jehoshaphat could have followed the path of the beginning of Psalm 73 and considered life unfair, with no reward for faithfulness to God. But he chose the path to victory, and He Sought God in times of troubling fear! Then, he praised God before he saw the victory in the flesh.

Psalm 77:10 crushed my heart and caused me to both repent and rejoice.  “Lord, what wounds me most is that it is somehow my fault that You’ve changed Your heart toward me, AND I no longer see the years of the Mighty One or Your right hand of power. “

Psalm 77:13 –“It’s here in Your presence, in Your sanctuary, where I learn more of Your ways, FOR holiness is revealed in everything You do.  Lord, You’re the one and only, the great and glorious God!”

Psalm 77:19 –“Your steps formed a highway through the seas with footprints on a pathway no one even knew was there.”

Are you afraid?   Look to Him and allow Him to reveal the pathway through the trouble, and you will see His footprints on a path you didn’t know even existed.   It is in His presence that we learn His ways and trust Him.  It is in His presence that there is peace.

If there is no presence, there is no peace!   If there is no peace, there is no pathway to victory!   No path, there is no deliverance!   If there is no deliverance, we will be overcome by fear!    If we are overcome by fear, it is because we have trusted in ourselves!   If we trust in ourselves, it will lead us to destruction!

As we commit everything to Him and allow Him to fill our hearts, we will see the pathway and His footprints in places we would never have thought to look.   Victory is ours “if” we press into His presence and are led by His peace!

Have a fantastic day being led by the Holy Spirit!

Renewed Commitment = Victory…

2 Chronicles 30:19-May the good Lord pardon 19 everyone who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers…”

Good morning!  I am praying for each of you to be divinely and supernaturally led by the Holy Spirit.   May He reveal hidden paths that lead to success in unexpected and amazing displays of His favor and grace.   Today, I call forth new doors, opportunities, and anointing.”

The words of Hezekiah in 2 Chronicles 30:19 echoed in my heart, calling me to commit or renew my commitment and setting my heart in preparation to pray.

In this account, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, had invaded the land and was like a swarm of locusts devouring everything.  God gave Hezekiah wisdom, courage, favor, and a plan.   He stood before his people and instructed his leaders.

In 2 Chronicles 32:7-8, the directive was to be strong and courageous.   It was to reject what you see and hear, causing fear and dismay.   Do not look at what the natural eye and the human reason say is reality.   Notice (7b) – “…FOR (Because) there is more with us than with him…”  All he has is what he has, but we have more – We have God.  We have God’s promises.   We have God’s Covenant.

With that mindset, Hezekiah and Isaiah prayed, and God heard them.   He sent His angel that stood before Him and delivered them.

There are two paths before us. We find that trusting God and maintaining an ongoing commitment produces present and eternal help. Conversely, we can become like Israel, as revealed in Psalm 78:36 – “…their repentance last only as long as they were in danger.”  They followed God with their words, not their hearts. Their worship was empty words of flattery.

God’s promise to the faithful is beautifully expressed in Psalm 81:10b – “Open your mouth with a mighty decree; I will fill it now, you’ll see!  The words that you speak, SHALL IT BE!”

Psalm 84:11b – “Those who walk along His paths with integrity WILL NEVER LACK one thing they need, FOR He provides it all!”

The key is Total Commitment and rejection of the lies of flesh.

Our heritage is peace, power, and prosperity in Him.   Our words spoken from His presence unleash angelic forces to bring our decree to pass!   From declaring His promises, we see the supernatural become visible now!  Therefore, choose your path!  Victory is available NOW!

Have a fantastic day of victory in Jesus!

Teach Me About You, LORD

Psalm 86:11 – “Teach me more about You…”

Today, something from Psalm 86 stopped me and captured my attention.  Psalm 86:11 – “Teach me more about You…”  A lifetime could be spent there and not scratch the surface of God.   But that was the beginning of Revelation, not the fullness, therefore.

“Teach me more about You, how You work and how You move, SO THAT I can walk (live and function) onward IN Your truth UNTIL everything within me brings honor to Your Name.”

Going back to the promise of Psalm 84:11b – “Those who walk (live and function) along his paths with integrity WILL NEVER lack one thing they need, for He provides it all.”

We can live in that state and mindset where we are enabled to see, perceive, understand, and value how God operates and Who He is.   As we know Him, one of two things happens.   We move away from Him or become like Him, wholly yielded and transformed.   At that point, our existence, words, thoughts, attitudes, and deeds bring honor to Him.

Our mission in life is not simply fulfilling our assignment—it is Knowing Him!   As we see beyond God’s works, acts, miracles, and deeds to His heart, we are drawn into Him.

God’s promise to David is His promise to those who honor Him.  Psalm 89:21-22 – “I will be strength to him, and I will give him My grace to sustain him NO MATTER WHAT COMES.  23 NONE of his enemies will get the best of him, NOR will the wicked one overpower him”  [Emphasis mine]

Then, the amazing declaration Psalm 89:29b – “… a dynasty that will release the days of heaven on earth.”  Psalm 89:35 – “For I have given him My Word, My holy irrevocable word.”

One catalyst into God’s presence is realizing that He never lies and never goes back on a promise.   Therefore, what has He promised us?  I’m not talking about what we believe He has promised us individually, but what is His Covenant to believers?  What does the Word say?

We fail to know God’s ways by failing to study His Covenant and Promises.   Ignorance is not bliss.  It is to miss Who God is.  Missing Who He is relegates us to mediocrity and religion.  Knowing brings us to transformation and transformation to freedom.  Knowing opens the door to reception in His presence.

Notice it says, “Until everything within me brings honor to Your Name.”  Everything is the keyword.    The question must be, “Does everything within us bring honor to Him? “  It is as we grasp this truth that we know what we must do.   Victory is within reach.   Receive it.

Have a victorious day in Jesus!   God bless you!

God is Eternal

Psalm 90:1 – “LORD, You have been (not past tense in the sense of no longer but as in Perpetual continuation) our eternal home, our hiding place from generation to generation.”

As I read, prayed, and pondered, Psalm 90:1 grabbed my heart powerfully. The thought flooded my heart—God is eternal. We hear that and, in a measure, believe it. Yet we keep defining God, His Ways, and His Acts in the human element of time constraints.

Psalm 90:4 -“One thousand years pass before Your eyes like yesterday that quickly faded away, like a night’s sleep soon forgotten.”

The timelessness of God always conflicts with mankind’s time consciousness.   This God, the Creator, who knows Everything, devotes Himself to us.  He is so gracious.  Those of Covenant felt comfortable praying Psalm 90:14-15 – “…only You can satisfy our hearts… 15 We have been overwhelmed with grief; come now and overwhelm us with gladness.  Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight.”   That is a Wow!

We are sometimes overwhelmed by the bad, and they expected the Lord to overwhelm us with gladness now!   Replace every tear of sorrow with the laughter of life!  Psalm 91 should become a daily meditation for God’s Covenant people.

Psalm 92:1 unveils the New Testament principle of overcoming and defeating doubt and being down.   We are to come to God with “Uncontainable Praise” spills from our hearts.  Not manufactured and phony attempts to manipulate but the overflow of the heart!

The ageless God reminds us that age is inconsequential to Him.  We don’t have to wither into obscurity.   Psalm 92:13-14 – “You’ve transplanted them into Your heavenly courtyard, where they are thriving before You.  14 For in Your presence, they will still overflow and be anointed. EVEN IN their old age, they will stay FRESH, bearing luscious fruit AND abiding faithfully.”

I love the rendering of Psalm 94:8-13.   God isn’t hard of hearing…isn’t blind, and is watching.  He fully examines our thoughts and sees their limitedness.   When God reveals His ways and word, we are overwhelmed by Blessing.

The ageless, timeless Creator is invested in our time.  As Psalm 94:19 declares, we sometimes let our thoughts get out of control, but God’s soothing presence brings calm and peace, giving clarity and overflowing joy.   What is the answer to life’s problems?  Psalm 95:7-9.  Drop Everything else and Listen to His Voice.

God’s timelessness is only problematic if we insist on schedules and deadlines.   If we trust Him, truly trust Him – time is not a factor.  Read Hebrews 11 again.

God has and is setting doors, pathways, and choices before us today.   His way to total surrender is the doorway to His heavenly courtyard and flourishing.

Look up and rejoice—help is on the way and here! Have a fantastic day in Jesus, and remember that the Trumpet is coming soon, very soon!

Can You Hear Me Now?

Psalm 95:7 – “For we are those He cares for, and He is the God we worship.  So, drop everything else and listen to His voice!  For this is what He is saying: “Today, when I speak, don’t even think about turning a deaf ear to Me like they did when they tested Me at Meribah and Massah, the place where they argued with Me, their Creator.  Your ancestors challenged Me over and over with their complaining, even though I had convinced them of My power and love.  They still doubted My care for them.”

What an amazing passage of Scripture.   Today, I sense the urgency to pray for everyone to have God’s ultimate and infinite peace and presence.

As I read, prayed, pondered, and mused on the Word, the immensity of God echoed in my consciousness.    God demands our attention and our commitment.   He doesn’t always get it because we are sometimes rebellious and self-serving.

Psalm 95:7-9 tells us that we are those He cares about.  “So, drop everything else and listen to His voice!”   Interesting!  God is the speaking God!   He communicates!   When we claim that we do not hear Him, we question His honesty and our condition.   Jesus said, “My sheep, HEAR My voice and follow me.”   If we are His, we hear and know His voice.   The passage continues, “For this is what He’s saying: TODAY when I speak (not if but when), don’t even think about turning a deaf ear to me…”

God speaks in many ways through many things, but He speaks and is speaking.   The question is, are we listening?  Do we even know how to listen?  When we hear Him and know Him, the natural fruit of that is overflowing with praise.

Psalm 100:4 is incredible.   “You can pass through His gates with the password of praise.  (You can) come right into His presence with Thanksgiving…”

That is AMAZING!  We are invited into the throne room of heaven (where He is) through praise and thanksgiving.   No wonder James would tell us to be joyful in trials because joyful praise brings His presence.   Remember, God inhabits (is enthroned) upon the praises of His people.

Praise, gratitude, thankfulness, and revelation through Hearing His voice enable us to live in Him, for Him, and by Him.   He helps us walk the right paths as we become determined to walk them.

The words of the Psalmist in Psalm 102:24 resonate powerfully: “I know my life is not yet finished.”  The focus is not the cessation of natural life but the fulfillment of God’s purposes.

Psalm 103:5 is beautiful, “You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!”  If we are not soaring, why not?  What hinders us from knowing and experiencing God’s fullness?  Whatever it is, it must be forced to shut down and Listen to His voice.   The words He speaks are Spirit and Life.

Today can be the first day of a life of total victory.   Hear Him, and as you Hear Him, you will be transformed.

Can you hear Me now, or yet seems to be God’s question today!   Listen and rejoice. He is the Living God who speaks and desires to fully reveal His desires, plans, and purposes to each of us!

Have a fantastic day!  I pray that God’s Grace will guide you into the place God desires for you, and you will experience incredible victory and peace!    God bless!
