PRESERVING THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR LIVES…

Psalm 11:3 – If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?”

The question that must be asked is, “What Foundations?”  The response in my mind is that there are many that need to be guarded and restored.

  • The foundation of moral sanctity.
  • The foundation of the home and family.
  • The foundation of wisdom.
  • The foundation of human government.
  • The foundation of justice and righteousness.

The foundations are many, but if the foundation of our relationship and trust in God is weakened or destroyed, we are being hurled headlong into the abyss of destruction. That is true in all the foundations.

Psalm 2 comes to mind, and the nations and heathen are raging with the Psalmist’s question: Why?  Why are they doing that?  Why do they hate God, the things of God, God’s people, and God’s Word?  Why do they hate moral sanctity and seek to evict God from everything?  Why – They are deceived and driven by Sin! Yes, I said Sin!

Then, we turn to Psalm 1 and rejoice as we consider the contrast in the directive not to do various things.  The contrast reveals that if I do not do those things, I should be doing the opposite. The person living in the Blessings of God is the one who does not follow the world’s pathway and the prevalent declension and depravity. Instead, they are seeking God!

  • Directive Number One is “Do Not.”

Do not walk in the counsel of the wicked; stand in the way (follow the path) of those outside the family of God; nor sit in the seat of the scoffer (the doubter).

  • Directive Number Two is “Do.”

Delight in God’s Word, God’s Person, God’s Power, and God’s Purpose. Meditate, study, examine, and become one with His Word. Make that your daily pursuit and keep it before you night and day!

Then, you will become like a firmly planted tree by the streams of the Water of Life! You will be productive and fruitful. You will not succumb to the mindset of uselessness due to age but will flourish and be strong, prospering in all you do!

Why?  Because you are in Him, and He is in you! You are abiding in Him, and His Word is abiding in you. You are a new creation, born-again, filled with His Spirit and Love!   You are more than a conqueror!  You are victorious!

That is How God sees you, but how do you see yourself?  If you follow the negative pathway described in Psalm 1, you will cease to trust God. You will become those who trust the arm of flesh rather than the arm of God because you have not been saturated in His Word and His Spirit.

It is time to refocus and seek Him! When we do, we will see our lives take a dramatic turn, and with confidence, we will be able to possess the promises and enforce the victory of Calvary! Choose to be who God says you are, not what you see others or the devil say.

Believe God and receive – today is your day to begin a new walk of victory! It may not be easy, but it is possible! It will not be without opposition, but He overcame the world and is in you; therefore, you have overcome the world, too!

I ask that you pray this prayer with me: Lord, enlighten my eyes to see, my mind to understand, and my heart to follow You.  Deliver and heal me.  Make me prosperous and productive.  Enable me to prosper and be in health as our souls prosper.  Lord, give me a day, no a lifetime of Victory!”

May this day be a day of overflowing victory and exquisite joy!
