Proverbs 14:30 – “A tranquil heart is Life to the Body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.”
The Heart is one area that the Lord always addresses and seeks in us. Jesus made it clear that it was out of the heart’s overflow that we express what is truly in it. When the Holy Spirit mentions a topic repeatedly, it is usually a reason to examine our hearts. It is wise to ask that He shine His heavenly spotlight upon our lives and reveal the flaws and the pathway to being what and who He desires. He has been doing that with me, and I am sharing this with you.
Once I have done that, I move to the second consideration, which is to seek to understand or see the larger reason the topic is being impressed upon my heart and mind. Is there a message for the Body of Christ? Is there a message for my circle of friends? Is there something I am to do, write, or speak?
That which is in the heart (what we believe, who we are, etc.) is the basis for our thoughts, which are expressed in verbal expressions (words). That is interesting because that indicates that it has physical health effects and touches the marrow of the bones.
- Jealousy is not an emotion or expression that is limited to romantic relationships but touches all aspects of life. It is linked to envy and covetousness. Envy, jealousy, covetousness, bitterness, hate, unforgiveness, and anger are all destructive. They destroy spiritually, emotionally, socially, societally, economically, and physically.
- Bitterness has adverse effects on the body, and there is an indication that it is one of the root causes of arthritis. I did not say the only cause, but it can contribute. If that is accurate, we must rid ourselves of it and its destructiveness.
Proverbs 16:24 – “Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
That is remarkably interesting! Once again, the writer refers to the bones and how words affect them. Remember that words are expressions of thoughts verbalized, and thoughts originate in the heart. Remember the words of Jesus: It is not what goes into man’s mouth that defiles but what comes out.
Proverbs 17:22 – “A glad heart is a good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
Bones without marrow (dry) are both brittle and dead. Hearts without the Spirit of God and the Love of God flowing inside are also dead.
It is God’s design and desire for us to walk in total freedom and live in the fullness of the Kingdom of God. Therefore, we must guard our hearts and calculate our words. If our words and hearts match His Promises, we will see walls crumble and strongholds destroyed and live in the miraculous. I did not say that just saying something magically makes it happen, but our words are expressions of our spiritual and emotional condition. They impact our lives. If we agree with God, we will see what God promised.
I urge you to determine that you will consciously align your words with God’s Word and say what God says about everything, not what you feel or someone else says!
May the Lord God of All Creation go with you today. God be in peace, and know He is always there!
