NEVER FORGET THAT GOOD REPORTS HAVE INCREDIBLE VALUE…

Proverbs 15:30-33 – “The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy.   31 The ear that hears the rebukes of life Will abide among the wise. 32 He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, but he who heeds rebuke gets understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility.” NKJV

We are told in Scripture that when your eyes are good, your whole body is full of light and that the light of the body is the eye (Luke 11; Matthew 6).  We have all heard that the eyes are the window of the soul, and here in Proverbs, we are told that the “light of the eyes brings joy to the heart.”

Light is Truth, and Truth brings Liberty, and Liberty brings Joy, and Joy brings Freedom and produces Rejoicing!    The result of walking in Truth and hearing not only the “Good Report of Jesus” but getting “Good Reports in Life” causes health to flow into the bones, and from the bones comes the marrow, which is crucial to health in the body like the blood.  Isn’t it amazing how powerful the truths of God’s word are?

The writer did not stop there but when on to say:

  • The person who will hear life’s rebukes will abide among the wise.
  • The one who disdains instruction despises his own soul.
  • The one who heeds rebuke gets understanding.

It is from “understanding” that we gain “knowledge,” and from “knowledge” that we come to know the Lord, and as we develop a “reverential fear” of the Lord and follow His Instructions, we gain wisdom!

From the position of walking in “wisdom,” we gain “humility” because we know who we are and who He is.  Out of that position comes Honor!  Everything in God is a progression.

It is a process.  It is line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.  You do not wake up one morning a fully developed adult from an infant, nor do you instantly become a fully mature Christian from a babe in Christ – – It is a Process!  Involved along the way is “Believing the Good Report” and receiving “Good Reports of Life.”

A Good Report is invaluable in our Christian Experience, which is one reason I believe sharing our “good reports” with those around us is essential to encourage them.  When I hear what God has done in the life of another, I have several options:

  • I can become jealous because He has not done the same for me.
  • I can dismiss it as some delusional thought about coincidence.
  • I can rejoice with them and allow that “good report” to inspire my faith and confidence in God.

I choose the latter!  So, bring on the “Good Reports” I want to rejoice with you!  I am Forgiven, and what better report could one give than that?

May God be with you as you go through your day!  Blessings abundantly!
