Isaiah 30:23-26 – “Then He will give the rain for your seed with which you sow the ground, and bread of the increase of the earth; it will be fat and plentiful. In that day your cattle will feed in large pastures. 24 Likewise the oxen and the young donkeys that work the ground will eat cured fodder, which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan. 25 There will be on every high mountain and on every high hill rivers and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, When the towers fall. 26 Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wound.” NKJV
What an incredible plea and promise to a nation who had drifted from God. The incredible description of what God promised to do upon their return is gripping when I consider my own nation, America. You may not hold my view that we have drifted far from our moorings morally and spiritually but surely you acknowledge that we have some incredibly serious problems facing us today. There are things facing this nation today that only the divine hand and blessing of the Almighty will solve. We cannot legislate it and unless or until it comes from the heart of man we will continue on this difficult road we travel.
Look at the promises:
- Rain for your seed.
The seed that will produce your prosperity because this seed you will be able to sow in the ground and what you sow will be multiplied back to you.
- Bread in abundance.
There will be enough grain to feed you and your livestock. Prosperity will return to your land individually and collectively.
- You will have the tools needed to achieve success.
The oxen and donkeys will work the ground, eating the produce of the land. You will become sufficient again because of the blessings of the Lord.
- God will illuminate your path and enable you to progress.
The light of the moon will be bright and the sun even brighter illuminating your path. I realize this could be interpreted negatively but in light of the rest of the promise I choose the positive.
- God promises to heal the bruise of His people and heal their wounds.
This is the promise of a people who return to the Lord from their wandering ways and disobedience. As I read I recall the words of Jesus spoken in Luke 12 where He said, “Fear not little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” God desires to provide for and bless us but He also desires that we are willing and obedient pursuing the pathway of righteousness as a person and as a nation.
God bless you as you live out this day in Him!
